Research target context

ADGRE5adhesion G protein-coupled receptor E5

View target guide

Adhesion G protein-coupled receptor E5 (ADGRE5), widely known as CD97, is an adhesion GPCR expressed prominently in immune-cell contexts. The human ADGRE5 target links NCBI Gene 976 and reviewed UniProtKB P48960 to ABMIUM catalogue reagents for research use.

Biological function: ADGRE5/CD97 is an EGF-TM7 family adhesion G protein-coupled receptor. The receptor undergoes autoproteolytic processing into a large extracellular subunit and a seven-transmembrane subunit that remain associated at the cell surface. Curated NCBI and UniProt records support roles in cell adhesion and signalling, particularly during leukocyte activation and migration; extracellular EGF-like repeats participate in binding partners including CD55 and chondroitin sulfate.
