Product description

Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) is an intracellular signalling adaptor that relays signals from the insulin receptor and IGF1 receptor into pathways including PI3K–AKT and RAS–MAPK, contributing to control of growth, glucose homeostasis and lipid metabolism. IRS1 is found predominantly in the cytoplasm, with context-dependent localisation to the nucleus and receptor-associated membrane compartments.
