CD86, also known as B7-2, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on antigen-presenting cells and other activated immune cells. By engaging CD28 and CTLA-4 on T cells, it helps regulate co-stimulation, activation and immune tolerance at the cell surface.
