Product description

ABCA4 is a retina-specific ATP-binding cassette transporter concentrated in photoreceptor outer-segment disc membranes. It functions as an ATP-dependent flippase for retinal-phosphatidylethanolamine conjugates, helping clear retinal by-products generated during the visual cycle and limiting accumulation of toxic bisretinoids.
