Product description

Human APOA2(Apolipoprotein A2) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring APOA2 in Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human APOA2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human APOA2. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human APOA2, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human APOA2 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

APOA2apolipoprotein A2

View target guide

APOA2 encodes apolipoprotein A2; the mature protein apolipoprotein A-II (ApoA-II) is the second most abundant protein of plasma HDL particles and contributes to lipoprotein structure and metabolism.

Biological function: Reviewed UniProt describes apolipoprotein A-II as a lipid-associated protein that may stabilize high-density lipoprotein (HDL) structure and influence HDL metabolism. APOA2 therefore provides a defined molecular target for studying apolipoprotein composition and lipoprotein organization.
