Product description

Human CA9(Carbonic Anhydrase IX) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring CA9 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Other biological fluids samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human CA9. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human CA9. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human CA9, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human CA9 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

CA9carbonic anhydrase 9

View target guide

Carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA9), also called carbonic anhydrase IX or CAIX, is a transmembrane zinc metalloenzyme involved in carbon dioxide/bicarbonate interconversion and pH regulation. ABMIUM catalogue products linked below support research on CA9 biology.

Biological function: Carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA9/CA IX/CAIX) is a transmembrane zinc-dependent carbonic anhydrase that catalyses the reversible interconversion of carbon dioxide and water with bicarbonate and hydrogen ions. Its expression is induced by hypoxia, linking CA9 to cellular acid-base regulation and hypoxia-associated research.
