Technical note
This CLIA kit uses the Sandwich-CLIA principle. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human ACP3/PAP. Samples or Standards are added to the micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human ACP3/PAP and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human ACP3/PAP, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear luminescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer at 425nm. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of Human ACP3/PAP. You can calculate the concentration of Human ACP3/PAP in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

ACP3acid phosphatase 3

View target guide

Acid phosphatase 3 (ACP3), better known as prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP or ACPP), is a human phosphatase classically associated with prostate tissue and acidic phosphomonoester hydrolysis.

Biological function: ACP3/prostatic acid phosphatase is a histidine acid phosphatase that hydrolyses phosphate monoesters under acidic conditions and can dephosphorylate phosphorylated substrates. Alternative forms of the protein include secreted and membrane-associated isoforms, supporting research into extracellular phosphatase and nucleotide-metabolism biology.
