Product description

Rat STAT3(Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 3) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring STAT3 in Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Cell culture supernatant, Other biological fluids samples from Rat. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat STAT3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat STAT3. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Rat STAT3, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat STAT3 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

STAT3signal transducer and activator of transcription 3

View target guide

STAT3 identifies signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 6774, UniProtKB P40763 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: STAT3 is a signal transducer and transcription factor activated downstream of multiple cytokine and growth-factor receptors. Following phosphorylation and dimerisation, STAT3 can translocate to the nucleus and regulate gene expression controlling processes including proliferation, survival, differentiation and immune responses.
