Product description

Human BMP4(Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4) Microsample ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring BMP4 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Cell culture supernatant, Other biological fluids samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human BMP4. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human BMP4. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human BMP4, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human BMP4 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

BMP4bone morphogenetic protein 4

View target guide

Bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4/BMP-4) is a secreted TGF-beta superfamily growth factor involved in developmental signalling and tissue differentiation. ABMIUM catalogue products linked below support research on BMP4 biology.

Biological function: Bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) is a TGF-beta superfamily growth factor with key roles in developmental patterning, differentiation, osteogenesis and vascular development. Canonical BMP4 signalling occurs through type I and type II BMP receptors and activates SMAD1/5/8-dependent transcription, while additional non-canonical pathways can also contribute.
