Product description

Rat ATF4(Activating Transcription Factor 4) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring ATF4 in Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Other biological fluids samples from Rat. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat ATF4. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat ATF4. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Rat ATF4, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat ATF4 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

ATF4activating transcription factor 4

View target guide

Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4), also known as CREB-2 and cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4, is a bZIP transcription factor central to the integrated stress response. Human ATF4 maps to NCBI Gene 468 and reviewed UniProtKB P18848; this record links the verified target to related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: ATF4 binds cAMP response elements and regulates metabolic and redox programmes while acting as a major transcriptional effector of the integrated stress response. Its translation rises during stresses including endoplasmic-reticulum stress, amino-acid starvation and oxidative stress, enabling adaptive stress-responsive gene expression.
