CD63 is a tetraspanin membrane protein concentrated mainly on late endosomal and lysosomal membranes, with regulated expression at the cell surface. It contributes to intracellular vesicle trafficking and tetraspanin-organised signalling complexes involved in adhesion, migration and integrin-associated signalling.
