Product description

Human Bcl2(B-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma 2) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring Bcl2 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Cell culture supernatant, Other biological fluids samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human Bcl2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human Bcl2. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human Bcl2, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human Bcl2 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

BCL2BCL2 apoptosis regulator

View target guide

BCL2 apoptosis regulator (BCL2; Bcl-2) is an anti-apoptotic mitochondrial membrane protein. This target guide connects human NCBI Gene 596, UniProtKB P10415 and ABMIUM catalogue products associated with BCL2.

Biological function: BCL2 apoptosis regulator, commonly called Bcl-2, suppresses programmed cell death in multiple cell systems and regulates apoptosis through effects on mitochondrial membrane permeability and cytochrome-c release. Its cell-survival role makes BCL2 a central target in apoptosis, mitochondrial signalling, lymphocyte biology and cancer research.
