Apolipoprotein C-III regulates triglyceride-rich lipoprotein metabolism at several steps. NCBI and reviewed UniProt describe APOC3 as promoting hepatic VLDL1 assembly and secretion, inhibiting lipoprotein lipase-mediated triglyceride hydrolysis, and delaying hepatic clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoprotein remnants.
