amine oxidase copper containing 3
AOC3 (amine oxidase copper containing 3), widely known as vascular adhesion protein 1 (VAP-1) and semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO), is a cell-surface copper amine oxidase studied in amine metabolism and leukocyte trafficking.

Research context & evidence
Target information is kept separate from product-level validation so you can review the biology and the reagent evidence independently.
AOC3 is a copper-dependent primary amine oxidase that catalyses oxidative deamination of primary amines to aldehydes, producing hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. As vascular adhesion protein 1 (VAP-1), the endothelial cell-surface protein also has adhesion activity that contributes to lymphocyte extravasation and recirculation.
AOC3/VAP-1/SSAO is studied where enzymatic amine oxidation intersects with endothelial adhesion and inflammatory-cell trafficking. Because catalytic activity and adhesion are distinct experimental readouts, researchers should match reagent format, species and application to the question being tested.
