Chemokine (C-C-Motiv) Ligand 24 (CCL24), auch bekannt als Myeloid Progenitor Inhibitory Factor 2 (MPIF-2) oder Eosinophil Chemotactic Protein 2 (Eotaxin-2), ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das CCL24-Gen kodiert wird.1 Mittels PCR-Analyse von somatischen Zellhybrid-DNAs, Strahlungshybrid-Mapping und einer Chromosom-7-spezifischen YAC-Bibliothek wurde das SCYA24-Gen auf Chromosom 7q11.23 kartiert.2 CCL24 ist ein kleines Zytokin, das zur CC-Chemokin-Familie gehört. CCL24 interagiert mit dem Chemokinrezeptor CCR3, um die Chemotaxis in Eosinophilen zu induzieren.3 Dieses Chemokin ist auch stark chemotaktisch für ruhende T-Lymphozyten und leicht chemotaktisch für Neutrophile.
