Hypoxie-induzierbare Faktoren (HIFs) sind Transkriptionsfaktoren, die auf Veränderungen des verfügbaren Sauerstoffs in der zellulären Umgebung reagieren, genauer gesagt auf Sauerstoffabnahmen oder Hypoxie. Dieses Protein ist erforderlich, damit die Liganden-bindende Untereinheit nach der Ligandenbindung vom Zytosol in den Zellkern transloziert wird.
