Fumarase (FH) ist ein Enzym, das die reversible Hydratation/Dehydratation von Fumarat zu Malat in den Mitochondrien katalysiert. Fumarase-Mangel wird durch eine Mutation im Fumarase-Gen beim Menschen verursacht. Fumarase-Mangel ist einer der wenigen bekannten Mängel des Krebszyklus oder Zitronensäurezyklus, dem wichtigsten enzymatischen Weg der zellulären aeroben Atmung.
