Die mitochondriale Rho GTPase 1 (MIRO1) ist ein Enzym, das beim Menschen durch das RHOT1-Gen auf Chromosom 17 kodiert wird. Das Ras-Homolog-Familienmitglied T1 (RHOT) ist eine atypische Rho Ca2+-bindende GTPase, die an den Mitochondrien lokalisiert ist. RHOT1, das verwandte Protein RHOT2, das Adapterprotein Milton und die PTEN-induzierte putativ Kinase 1 (PINK1) bilden einen Komplex, der am axonalen Transport von Mitochondrien beteiligt ist. Sowohl PINK1 als auch Parkin zielen auf RHOT1 zur Phosphorylierung und Degradation ab, was die Arrestierung der mitochondrialen Motilität verursacht.
