It is a type I transmembrane protein with 20-27% amino acid identity to other members of the B7 family. B7-H3 participates in the activation of T lymphocytes and regulates the formation of mouse bone. It has also been reported that B7-H3 may play an important role in muscle-immune interaction, providing further evidence for the active role of muscle cells in the local immune regulation process. B7-H3 is expressed on T cells, natural lethal cells and antigenic cells, and certain non-immune cells (such as osteoblasts, fibroblasts, fibroblast-like synovial cells, and epithelial cells).
