LIM domains are highly conserved cysteine-rich structures containing 2 zinc fingers. Although zinc fingers usually function by binding to DNA or RNA, the LIM motif probably mediates protein-protein interactions. LIM kinase-1 and LIM kinase-2 belong to a small subfamily with a unique combination of 2 N-terminal LIM motifs and a C-terminal protein kinase domain. The protein encoded by this gene is phosphorylated and activated by ROCK, a downstream effector of Rho, and the encoded protein, in turn, phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. It is thought that this pathway contributes to Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. At least three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"BT LAB","offers":[{"title":"100ul","offer_id":57659771126100,"sku":"ABM172264","price":176.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"50ul","offer_id":57659771158868,"sku":"ABM172265","price":115.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"20ul","offer_id":57659771191636,"sku":"ABM172266","price":69.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1040\/1782\/2036\/files\/btlab-300347ecf3bc0980898aa8ae2d3892627e952dd52e4d34007ce55913d2e283c4.jpg?v=1792158839","url":"https:\/\/www.abmium.com\/de\/products\/abm172264","provider":"ABMIUM","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
