Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. MRPL48 (mitochondrial ribosomal protein L48) encodes a 39S subunit protein. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found on chromosome 6p. Several transcript variants, some protein-coding and some non-protein coding, have been found for this gene.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"BT LAB","offers":[{"title":"20ul","offer_id":57660483797332,"sku":"ABM168445","price":69.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"50ul","offer_id":57660483830100,"sku":"ABM168446","price":115.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"100ul","offer_id":57660483862868,"sku":"ABM168447","price":176.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1040\/1782\/2036\/files\/btlab-b483904d266ba433121588683120af5595fd8bab3e8b0ace28f6dedec5f0bbbf.jpg?v=1792158852","url":"https:\/\/www.abmium.com\/de\/products\/abm168445","provider":"ABMIUM","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
