Biological function

BST1/CD157 can catalyse formation of cyclic ADP-ribose from NAD+ and hydrolyse cyclic ADP-ribose to ADP-ribose. Cyclic ADP-ribose functions as a calcium-mobilizing second messenger, while BST1 has also been implicated in supporting pre-B-cell growth in stromal-cell contexts.
